Join in the interactive discussion regarding how gambling addiction can cross paths with suicidal thinking and suicide. Learn how to notice warning signs and have tools and language to help a person in need. Take a deeper dive into understanding the seductive mannerisms of suicide and how gambling plays into this.
Course Objectives:
1) Gain a solid understanding of suicidal thinking and how it can be seductive to solve all problems.
2) Understand the difference between suicidal thinking and active suicide and how to get involved.
3) How gambling addiction can create the “perfect storm” to lead to suicide.
4) Know the signs and have the tools to deal with both issues.
Presenter Biography
Barb Bigalke is the Founder of the Center for Suicide Awareness. Barb launched HOPELINE, a text support line, in 2014 which has grown into a highly utilized support line with over 2600 volunteer responders. Barb has degrees in Human Development, Psychology, and Mental Health and Suicidology and 70+ certificates such as Critical Incident Stress Management and National Office for Victim Advocacy, is a certified Brainspotting Practitioner, an FBI Master Resilience Trainer, QPR trainer, certified coach, and Kinesiology Practitioner.
